One of the most requested demands today in the dental clinic Caballero de Rodas, in Las Palmas, is the closure of diastemas, those spaces that remain between the anterior teeth. There are several possibilities we have to approach this type of problem:
- Closure by means of composites
It is important to point out that, before any treatment, we must know what has caused the patient to have these spaces. We need to solve both the aesthetic problem that causes the diastema and what has produced it.
Obviously, the larger the space to close the diastema, the more therapeutic possibilities we will consider for the resolution of the case. We will take into account some factors such as the proportions of the anterior teeth, their position or their color among others, in many cases aesthetic, which will also influence the decision on the type of treatment we are going to choose.
The final esthetic result will depend more on a correct analysis of the smile and on a deep knowledge of the aesthetic rules and patterns of the anterior teeth, than on the application of one material or another.
